Residents were advised to close doors and windows as fire crews dealt with an abandoned fire last night.

Crews were called to controlled burning which had been left unattended at Green Street Green Road near Darenth at 8.47pm.

Three fire engines and a bulk water carrier attended, and crews used two main jets to put the fire out.

There were no reported injuries.
