Delays on Dartford Crossing approach after crash involving lorry and a car

Drivers travelling towards London are stuck in eight-mile-long queues following a crash involving a car and a lorry along the M25.

Motorists are facing 60-minute delays along the anti-clockwise carriageway on the approach to the Dartford Crossing.

This comes after a collision closed two lanes at the Thurrock junction just after 4.15pm.

The road was later cleared - but shortly afterwards a vehicle breakdown prompted the closure of the east bore tunnel.

A spokesman for Highways England South East warned: "There are severe delays on the M25 anti-clockwise approaching Dartford Crossing.

"There's over 8.5 miles of congestion, back to Junction 4.

"Allow plenty of extra time."
