Brands Hatch is famous for its motorsports but this summer it will host a different kind of transport as part of an annual charity fundraiser.
Bike Around Brands gives cyclists of all ages and abilities the chance to ride around the famous track and raise money for those in need.
Organised by the Swanley and North Downs Lions, it is now in its 12th year.
Club president Colin McRobert said: “It’s a nice event to have where there is no risk of traffic so it’s safer for the children. It’s a good communal family event.”
People can ride around the 1.2 mile-track for as many laps as they like and are asked to donate at least £15, or £5 for those who are 14 or under.
The majority of the money will go to the ellenor hospice team, which supports adults and children with life-limiting or terminal illness.
The remainder will be used by the Lions to help others in need.
The group, which was founded in 1977, has been involved in fundraising for the hospice for many years and recently donated £6,500 to mark the 100th anniversary of their parent organisation, the Lions Clubs International.
Last year, nearly 300 riders aged from three to their 80s raised £7,250.
Mr McRobert said: “They were all happy and people said they want to come again.”
