A father has admitted running a brothel from his home to make ends meet.

Christopher Still, 56, ran the establishment, which was raided by police in March, from his home in Station Road, Swanley, Maidstone Crown Court heard.

As police entered the address, known as Swanley Massage Parlour, they found a man dressed in only a white towel in a compromising position, with one of three young women in her 20s, who was scantily clad and working there.

Officers witnessed the towel-wearing man dropping a card on the floor, and as they entered the room, the card turned out to be the price list for services offered at the venue.

Other items in the room included baby oil and tissues, and when lockers were searched later, various items commonly used in the sex trade - including adult toys and lubricant - were found.

Chris Prior, prosecuting, said: "More price lists were found and it was quite plain sex acts were available for purchase."

The court also heard that Still had returned to the address during the raid and was arrested.

His private living quarters were searched and £280 in notes was found along with a Romanian passport and ID cards for a woman believed to have worked there.

It was also found the women who were employed there each had her own key to their lockers and various items of a sexual nature were found in most.

Still admitted keeping a brothel when he appeared in court.

The judge heard he had drifted in life for the past five or six years, and a company he used to run had gone bankrupt.

Nathawni Rushi, defending, told the court his client was now working as a builder.

He said he had to pay rent on the home of his two twin daughters who lived with their mother – and that he got involved with the enterprise to make ends meet.

Judge Charles MacDonald QC heard Still had been given a caution as a 17-year-old for being drunk and disorderly, but other than that had not been in trouble with the law.

He added: "There were a number of rooms and a man was found in a compromising position and the cost of sex acts were appearing as he dropped the price list.

"There was other paraphernalia found in the lockers and cash in a safe."

Still was jailed for eight months.
