Dartford were given a lesson in ruthlessness on Tuesday night by AFC Telford.
Their visitors to Princes Park had four shots on target and scored all of them to hit Darts boss Tony Burman, pictured, with his heaviest defeat since returning to the top-flight of non-league football.
Former Northern Ireland international Steve Jones punished the Darts twice in a three-minute spell in the first half to give Burman’s side a mountain to climb.
A mistake from Tom Bonner led to the opener, as his headed clearance went backwards and fell to Jones. He took full advantage and moments later, from the edge of the box, he smashed in a second.
And when Luke Hubbins’ 55th-minute strike took a massive deflection to leave keeper Marcus Bettinelli stranded and roll into the net it was all but game over.
There was still time for Telford to add a fourth, however, when midfielder Phil Trainer unleashed a shot into the top corner from 25 yards.
Dartford grabbed a consolation with 15 minutes left as Elliot Bradbrook tucked away a corner ball at the second attempt.
