Dartford bounced back from Saturday's disappointing defeat at Staines with an epic 2-2 draw with Blue Square Bet South relegation scrappers St Albans at Princes Park on Tuesday night.
Charlie Sheringham went close to an opener for Tony Burman's side (pictured), heading Lee Noble's cross against the post before the striker's low shot was spilled by Saints keeper Paul Bastock, only for Danny Harris to see his subsequent tap-in ruled out for offside.
The visitors took the lead against the run of play on 33 minutes when slack defending allowed Inih Effiong to slam in off the post from close range, however the hosts levelled within two minutes when Noble’s free-kick caused mayhem in the box and Sheringham was able to finish from four yards.
Sheringham hit the underside of the bar before half-time, with Bastock superbly blocking Tom Bonner's follow-up header, but Sheringham gave the Darts the lead six minutes after the break from close range after being found by Lee Burns after a long-ball forward.
This time it was the visitors who replied within two minutes when Ollie Kelly’s diving header found the corner before James White saw red for the hosts for two soft bookings around the hour.
Effiong hit the bar with a venomous drive late-on before Darts substitute Jon Main was felled by Bastock in the box as he battled to get on the end of a huge clearance from Andy Young.
The foul handed another sub, Ryan Hayes, the chance to win the game in the 92nd minute from the spot, only for his tame penalty to ome back off the post.
