Dartford kept up their commanding lead at the top of the Ryman Premier Division, but only just, in an eventful game at Princes Park.
Tony Burman's side were on the back foot as soon as seven minutes in, when Ashford opened the scoring from the penalty spot through Jamie England. Andrew Young was penalised for bringing down an opponent on the edge of the box.
But, their lead was short lived as an own goal put Dartford level. Full-back Femi Ilesamni headed into his own net after Ryan Harris' free-kick was put into the danger area.
Danny Harris then completed a quick turnaround on 21 minutes as he put the league leaders ahead. However, a lapse in concentration in first half stoppage time saw Ashford level it up at 2-2. Jamie England again the man on the scoresheet, this time sneaking in on the end of a speculative long ball.
After the break, the crowd of 1,100 didn't have long to wait for another goal. Lee Burns 47th minute effort proving the eventual winner, as he got himself on the end of right wing cross.
The result puts Dartford 10 points clear and with three games in hand of second-placed Kingstonian, who went down 2-1 away to Cray Wanderers.
