Dartford manager Tony Burman described the 2-0 defeat against Millwall on Tuesday night as a good work-out.

More than 2,600 spectators were at Princes Park to see the Lions, who included a mixture of youth and experience in their side, win thanks to goals by Neil Harris and Gary Alexander.

The visitors had to play with 10 men after defender John Marquis was sent off by referee Ian Cooper five minutes before half-time following an aerial challenge on Darts defender Joe Bruce.

Burman (pictured) said: "The referee was quick to show the red card but he saw something that I didn’t and it did spoil things a little bit."

The Darts boss, who used 19 players in the game, added: "It was a good game, a big test for our boys up against Millwall’s sharpness and fitness and a decent work-out.

"We have still got to make decisions on players and will do that either this week, or early next."
