Three Dartford players are in the British Judo team for the World Championships next month.
They are part of a 20-strong team for the World Championships in Tokyo from September 9 to 13.
Dartford has three representatives in the team as teenager Kelly Edwards, and Scarlett Woolcock and Gemma Howell (pictured), both 20, all make their World Championship debuts.
A further five members of the squad train at the British Judo Performance Institute in Dartford. Faith Pitman, Megan Fletcher, Gemma Gibbons, Ashley McKenzie and Colin Oates also train primarily at the sport’s premier training facility in England.
Margaret Hicks, British Judo’s performance director, said: "The 2010 World Championships Team for Tokyo has been selected with two goals in mind; one for experienced players at the elite level to perform at this event and the second for development players to continue to make the right progressions.
"A larger team is possible for this World Championships as two players are allowed per weight category."
