Motorists are being warned the Dartford Tunnel will be partially closed tonight while maintenance work takes place.

Highways England will close the left-hand tunnel between 10pm on Sunday night until 5am on Monday while the work takes place.

The right hand tunnel - the taller of the two - will remain open.

However, the reduced capacity could lead to delays using the tunnel under the Thames from Kent towards Essex.

It comes just days after the QEII Bridge had to be closed temporarily on Friday due to the high winds.
