Two lanes of Dartford Tunnel shut due to emergency repairs

One of the tunnels at the Dartford Crossing was shut for emergency repairs.

There was queuing traffic on the anti-clockwise carriageway due to the closure on the A282, put in place by National Highways shortly after 5pm following an incident.

It was affecting the west tunnel with traffic being diverted via the eastern route.

Congestion stretched back to Junction 3 at Swanley.

This came after the M25 was shut this morning following protests from Just Stop Oil.

National Highways said the works were completed by 6pm and traffic able to use the lanes again.
