A young Dartford woman landed her dream summer work experience placement as a screenwriter at BFI Film Academy.

Louise Seun Ogunnaike, 22, was chosen from thousands of hopefuls for her place, which included a two day movie masterclass from producer of the hit film Suffragette, Alison Owen.

The former Dartford Grammar pupil also joined other winners in creating a short film to be screened at the BFI London Film Festival.

“I’ve been writing for a while now and saw this as a great opportunity to see something I was passionate about on screen,” said Louise.

“I also wanted to meet other filmmakers; growing up, film has always seemed like this closed off world."

"I think the great thing about courses like this is that it makes you believe working in the film industry is something you can do, as long you work hard and have that determination to see it all the way through.”

The seven day course was borne from a partnership between the BFI and GoThinkBig, a work experience initiative launched by O2.
