Air ambulances called to serious crash involving two vehicles on A20, near Farningham

Two air ambulances were called to a serious crash which led to road closures.

Police were called to the crash which involved two vehicles – understood to be a car and a van – on the A20, near Farningham shortly after 4pm (July 31).

Officers were at the scene along with other emergency services.

Two air ambulances were in attendance and road closures were in place while the incident was attended to.

According to traffic monitoring tool Inrix, the A20 Main Road through Farningham was closed in both directions between the A225 Dartford Road and Eglantine Lane junctions.

There was considerable congestion in the area, especially along Eynsford Road and the High Street.

Motorists were being told to avoid the area.

Update: The A20 was re-opened by 5am Tuesday (August 1).
