One lane of the M25 was closed and emergency crews were called after a vehicle fire this afternoon.

The incident happened on the clockwise carriageway between Junction 3 near the Swanley Interchange and Junction 4 at Orpington.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were called to reports of a vehicle fire at around 1.55pm.

Two fire engines were sent to the scene and crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.

No casualties were reported.

The anticlockwise carriageway was also reported to be slow due to onlookers, with vehicles coming to a halt in the outside lane to view the incident.
