Dartford missed the chance to close the gap on Blue Square Bet South leaders Woking on Saturday.
The Darts remain eight points behind with a game in hand after they lost 1-0 at Dorchester, while Woking were beaten 2-1 at Eastbourne.
On a dreadful pitch, Dartford never really got going in a stale first half, with just a few half-chances created at either end. Jacob Erksine (pictured) went close for the Darts and Lee Noble fired over.
Dartford lost Matt Jones to injury at half-time and Erskine was forced off early in the second half after taking a knock.
The only goal came after 54 minutes when Ryan Dovell scrambled home.
Tom Bonner and James Rogers both went close for the Darts before the former had a header ruled out for offside and Danny Harris' shot hit the woodwork.
Darts introduced Ryan Hayes late on in a bid to force an equaliser but they left gaps at the other end and Dorchester nearly made them pay when they hit the post late on.
Dorchester lost keeper Alan Walker Harris with a broken leg in the final minutes.
Dartford entertain Charlton on Tuesday night in the Kent Senior Cup semi-final.
