Man assaulted on M25 slip road at Swanley, driving towards Dartford Tunnel

A man was reportedly assaulted while he was sat in traffic in his car on a motorway slip-road.

At around 11.30am on Saturday, March 4, the driver was travelling towards the Dartford Tunnel on the M25 when he left the motorway at Swanley.

While being held in a queue at a traffic light, another motorist allegedly got out of a black Mini and assaulted him.

The victim, who was driving a red Vauxhall Viva, suffered a facial cut that later needed hospital treatment.

Patrols were called and a man in his 50s was arrested.

Investigating officer, PC Lexi Carter, said: "Other motorists were in the queue at the traffic lights and may have witnessed this incident.

"An investigation is underway and we are appealing to anyone who may be able to assist our enquiries to contact our appeal line."
