Driver suffers suspected heart attack at wheel

THE Maidstone-bound carriageway of the A249 near Stockbury was closed for a short time this morning following an accident.

The driver of a Mazda car is believed to have suffered a heart attack at the wheel and the car collided with an embankment.

Meanwhile, firefighters from Dartford had to cut open the roof of a woman driver's car to free her after her vehicle hit a lorry.

The incident happened at 8.30am this morning on Old Bexley Lane, near the roundabout leading on to the A2.

The Dartford area has seen its first snow of the week this morning.
