Drivers are facing heavy traffic after a crash near the Dartford Crossing this morning.

Five vehicles were involved in the accident, which happened just before 11am on the approach to the crossing, and traffic was temporarily stopped as police and highways crews worked to move the vehicles onto the hard shoulder.

A woman sustained minor injuries in the accident but did not need medical assistance.

The road was reopened shortly afterwards but one lane remained closed while the vehicles were recovered and drivers have been warned to expect delays.

All lanes have since been reopened.
