Eight people broke into a house and the victim was threatened with a weapon during an attempted burglary.
The suspects entered the property in Newports, Crockenhill, near Swanley, through the back door between 11.45pm and 12.15am on Tuesday, June 27.
They demanded money but left empty-handed and police are now appealing for information.
One suspect has been described as white, aged in his early 20s, medium build with dark short hair, and wearing a grey sweatshirt and tracksuit bottoms with slurred speech and a deep voice.
Another suspect is described as black, aged late 20s to early 30s, and of stocky build. He is around 5ft 6ins tall and was wearing a zipped up black hoodie.
Four other men are described as black and wearing hoodies. One black male was aged in his early 30s to early forties with patchy facial hair and another man is described as stocky.
Detective Sergeant Kris Eberlein said: "We are treating this incident as isolated and have carried out a number of lines of enquiry and are appealing for witnesses who saw any vehicles or people in the area which appeared suspicious to them or drew their attention."
