A FORMER council leader is to appear in court accused of 14 counts of making indecent images of children.
The Crown Prosecution Service has advised Kent Police to charge 50-year-old Kenneth Leadbeater with computer-related crime.
Police arrested and charged Cllr Leadbeater, former leader of Dartford council, when he voluntarily attended a police station in the county on Monday.
Cllr Leadbeater, an accountant from the South Darenth area, has been bailed to appear before magistrates at Dartford on Friday.
Cllr Leadbeater, a Conservative, stood down as leader of the council in February. He still represents Heath Ward on the council.
