Colour rendering is a highly skilled trade and the results can be stunning, especially when the light catches a finished wall surface.
With 35 years of experience behind him, Des Locke launched The Coloured Render Co in Dartford in 2011 and carries out the installation of coloured renders and external wall insulation systems across the UK and northern Spain.
All eight employees and additional sub-contractors are highly trained and much of the work is with new-build homes.
It’s a process that’s been popular in Scotland for many years where the elements take their toll on external walls. Working closely with architects and builders, this firm uses various systems with finishes including silicone, acrylic and cement-based renders.
Mr Locke said: “If you are a self-builder or renovator we are the perfect company for you.
“We understand the pitfalls of carrying out work yourself and have gained a reputation for solid advice, customer care and price.
“We are experts in modern methods of construction when it comes to the render finish. We can also go over old pebble dash and other external finishes if sound, alleviating the need to hack off.”
The Coloured Render is a very environmentally friendly company and has been awarded the KCC STEM blue level through Low Carbon Kent and will be aiming for gold level at the next chance.
The Coloured Render is just one of several companies to enter this year’s Dartford and Gravesham Business Awards. They are supported by the Messenger and each entrant gets a free profile in our papers and online.
