A family are hoping to raise enough money to buy a Volkswagen camper van for their cancer-stricken dad.
Swanley resident Robert Corner survived stomach cancer after being diagnosed in 2018, having undergone full chemotherapy treatment.
Months later he was able to ring the bell at Maidstone hospital to symbolise he was cancer free.
However, Robert and his family were given news "nobody wanted to hear" at a follow-up appointment - the cancer had redeveloped in both his kidneys and stomach.
Now his family are attempting to raise £5,000 for their father after continuous treatment had "taken its toll" on him, making him feel "weak and run down".
Speaking about Robert's recovery, son Matthew said: "Having been through his full treatment of chemotherapy the improvements had been steadily progressing in the right direction until the point we were able to accompany him to his final session when he was finally able to ring the bell at Maidstone hospital to make it official.
"A few months later after awaiting a follow-up appointment with the hospital we recieved the news that none of us wanted to hear. The cancer had developed in both his kidneys and lower stomach.
"Robert is an inspiration to all, he is always looking at the positives..." Anita Gray
The HGV driver, who comes from the Isle of Sheppey, is now out of hospital as he battles cancer for a second time and his family want to help buy the VW-mad dad a camper van that he can work on and restore.
"It has always been his dream to have a classic camper and we are hoping that with the help of family and friends we can make this a reality," Matthew said.
"We will make the van bespoke for Robert's access needs as movement has been difficult as of late."
The fundraising page has already raised £800 of its target.
Louise Wilson commented on the page: "Knowing Robert since we were little, and always being the one who is always positive even through this horrible journey. So so strong. Thinking of you always."
While Anita Gray added: "Robert is an inspiration to all, he is always looking at the positives, wishing you all the best of luck."
