An Oscar-winning director has returned to a rural village to continue filming scenes for her latest blockbuster.

Location trucks and a catering van arrived in Page Close in Bean last night to carry on shooting for Bird, the new film from Dartford-born director Andrea Arnold.

It is the second time filming has taken place in Bean and flyers were dropped through residents’ doors warning them of the disruption.

Previously the premise of the film has been kept under wraps but the letter revealed the basis of the film, which tells the story of a troubled young teenage girl and the mysterious stranger she meets that changes her life.

In the letter it described how the scenes would involve actors running away from the police, down an alley and into a field off Sandy Lane.

It warned there would be blue flashing lights but they “are fake and from us”.

The crew, who have also filmed in Northfleet, were on location for four hours.

Earlier this month residents enjoyed the excitement of watching the film’s chase scene happening right outside their front doors.

Andrea Arnold OBE who won an Oscar for her short film Wasp in 2005 is said to be very proud of her Kent roots and was keen to film in her hometown.
