Fire crews from across the county spent 10 hours fighting an all-night barn blaze at a stud farm in Dartford.
Four units from Northfleet, Swanley and Dartford - as well as a water unit from Larkfield - were sent to deal with the inferno on Lombard Street, in Horton Kirby.
Crews were at the scene from 8.55pm yesterday until 7am today, with fire crews managing to get the blaze under control by 11.20pm.
Police also attended the scene at 9pm to hold back gathering crowds. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but police said that a gas cylinder explosion was a possibility.
People were initially feared to have been trapped inside the building, however it is now believed the barn was empty when it caught alight.
Police said they do not believe the fire to be suspicious.
The burning barn caused road closures in Eglantine Road, which were not removed until 4.55am today.
A variety of fire-fighting equipment was used to tackle the flames, including three main jets and a cobra jet – where a hole is drilled into the building which a hose sprays through.
