Firefighters spent two hours tackling a woodland blaze on Dartford Heath.
Three fire engines were sent to the blaze which happened around lunchtime.
Fire crews suspect the cause could have been a discarded cigarette and high temperatures meant the blaze took hold quickly.
Dartford fire station's watch manager Lee Abel said: "We would just issue a warning that with hot weather and more people out and about to take care with discarding cigarettes and rubbish in the countryside.
"It was quite a small area that caught fire and there was very little danger to people's safety."
