A person was treated for burns to their hands after a fire started in a kitchen bin.

Firefighters gave first aid to the occupant of a house after tackling the small fire in Salmon Road, Dartford.

Two fire engines attended just after 7.30pm last night. They were at the scene for 30 minutes and extinguished the flames using a hose reel jet.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
