Firefighters have tackled a blaze at a flat in Eynsford this morning which bgean beneath a fire place.

Two crews were called to an address in Millhouse Close at 8.15am after heat from an open fire spread to floor joists.

Investigators say the cause of the fire is accidental.

Crews spent more than an hour tackling the flames after cutting away the floor along the wall of the fire place.

Almost a quarter of the first floor living room was damaged by fire. Firefighters left the property just before 10am.
