A PETROL bomb attack has left a firm with a £90,000 repair bill which could put it out of business.
Milk bottles filled with petrol were hurled at Beaver Hydroponics in Invicta Road, Dartford, at around 4am on Sunday.
No one was hurt. But the long-term future of the family-run business, which specialises in heating and lighting equipment to grow plants indoors, has now been put in jeopardy as its owner begins counting the cost of the damage.
The attack has completely baffled owner Leslie Reynolds who says she is unaware of any enemies. She said: "They attacked the office but the warehouse was worse hit. It contained air filters, light fittings and all of our plants. It has been completely wiped out."
She and her five members of staff now face an uncertain future as they wait to see if the business can gain orders and recover.
Although she will receive help from her insurance company to repair and re-stock the warehouse and re-grow the plants, it is time spent out of the business which is worrying the firm most.
Sub Officer Vince Lewis, of Dartford Fire Brigade, said: "Smashed milk bottles were found at the scene and arson is suspected."
A police spokesman said: "An investigation is underway and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward."
