Football fans can play their part in raising cash for charity at Dartford FC's Princes Park stadium.

The ground plays host to a match between Maidstone Titans Football Club and Norfolk FC tomorrow (Wednesday). The match - the Chris Charlton Charity Shield Final 2010 - is in support of Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. and will kick off at noon, with gates opening at 11am.

One of the team members involved in organising the match, Lee Jamison, said: "The match was originally set up as a match day experience for a group of amateur footballers to experience playing in front of a small crowd in a proper stadium for a day.

"Soon after setting it up we discovered one of the players' daughters was ill and was being treated by the hospital, so we thought it would be a good idea to make some much-needed funds for charity through the event."

Each of the players are paying £40 on the day, with a manager donating £150 worth of medals and trophies. Collection tins will be passed around to spectators.

For more information about the day call Mr Jamison on 07765 080308.
