Former Ebbsfleet winger Ricky Shakes lines up against his old club this weekend as part of a Kidderminster side chasing promotion to the Football League.
The Guyana international signed for the Harriers last summer, ending a four-year association with the Stonebridge Road club.
Having been the Fleet’s longest-serving player at the time, Shakes (pictured) admitted it was hard to walk away from the Fleet and revealed he would welcome a return to north Kent in the future.
He said: "I had been there for four years and you make friends with the fans and the players. I had a good relationship with Liam Daish and the club’s not far from where I lived in south London.
"I have so many good memories. I wouldn’t mind going back there to play one day."
Shakes, 28, joined Kidderminster to quench his thirst for professional football after three seasons as a part-time player with Ebbsfleet.
While Steve Burr’s side have proved the surprise package in Blue Square Bet Premier this season, Shakes has been a peripheral figure in their promotion push.
He has started just eight league games for the Aggborough outfit, but no fixture on the calendar holds more significance for Shakes than the Fleet’s visit on Saturday. After seven months on the fringes of the Harriers’ first-team, he said: "It would be great for me to start and end the game playing against my old side."
