Four people arrested and two injured after London Road in Swanscombe shut and machete recovered

Four people have been arrested after an incident where two men were taken to hospital and a machete was recovered.

Police shut London Road in Swanscombe at around 1.30pm on Wednesday after reports of a disturbance.

Now, detectives are appealing for people to come forward after multiple arrests were made and an air ambulance was called into action.

Officers were called the scene where a man was treated and taken to hospital for serious injuries. He remains there in a stable condition.

A second man was treated for stab wounds at a local hospital but has since been discharged.

When investigating the incident, officers found a machete at the scene.

Two men, aged 19 and 23, and a woman, aged 18, were arrested on suspicion of assault.

A third man, aged 23, was also arrested for assault on the following day.

The 19-year-old man and the 18-year-old woman have since been bailed to return to the police station pending further investigation.

The two other men remain in police custody.
