A large gas leak led to a phased evacuation and road closures in Dartford on Thursday.

The leak was reported at 8.06am from one of Dartford's main natural gas cylinders.

The incident in Victoria Road led to a large cordon around the area and a number of roads were closed.

Six pumps from Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended.

Firefighters and police left the scene at around 9.45am.

But gas engineers remain at the scene to repair the fault.
