A six-year-old girl intent on helping kids less fortunate than herself has raised £228 for children's charity, the NSPCC.
Emily Avis from Dartford made an unusual request for her birthday this year when asked what she wanted.
Instead of receiving gifts the six-year-old asked those attending her party to pledge a donation to the NSPCC.
When quizzed as to why she said: "Some children are not safe because their parents are not very nice.
"We need to help those children, I hope they feel happy. I raised money for children who don't have homes or toys or clothes or feel happy."
Family and friends were surprised by a special guest appearance from Disney's Elsa who presented Emily with a Frozen-themed cake.
Emily's mum Amy said she was "blown away" by her daughter's generosity and was very proud.
She said: "I have always thought about charity donations in return for a lavish party, as some children seem to have so much when others have so little, not just materially but emotionally too.
"I have always wanted Emily to understand that not all children are lucky enough to have a loving home where they are safe, with family to care for them."
The money raised by Emily will help fund vital services for children delivered by the NSPCC.
These include Speak Out Stay Safe, a programme that delivers safeguarding messages directly to children through assemblies and workshops.
NSPCC community fundraising manager for Kent, Michele Baxter, said: “Thank you Emily for raising so much money for your sixth birthday this money will help us make a difference to the lives of children who’ve experienced abuse or neglect.”
