Dartford is getting an Aldi, a Poundland and a new gym.
Plans for a gym above the old Waitrose site in Dartford have been submitted to the council.
The shop is currently empty after Waitrose pulled out but new planning documents state it will soon become an Aldi and Poundland.
The first floor, originally storage space used by Waitrose, will become a gym.
Dartford council leader Jeremy Kite, who said: “We’re seeing an influx of interest in the town and it’s on the map as somewhere people want to open up.
"People are coming to us with plans.
“The gym above the shops will mean more people will be coming into the town so we’ll increase footfall and I of course welcome new jobs to the area.”
As part of the planning permission, the car park will be reconfigured.
It currently has 163 parking spaces but this will be reduced to 139 - a loss of 24 spaces.
There will also be a limit on parking time, down to an hour and a half.
A decision is expected by the end of next month.
