Boy, 17, charged after elderly couple attacked in burglary at Hextable

A teenager has been charged after an elderly couple were badly beaten in an attack in their Hextable home.

The 17-year-old is accused of two counts of burglary and inflicting grievous bodily harm over the incident in Panters last Tuesday.

He appeared before magistrates on Saturday and was remanded in custody pending a youth court appearance on Thursday.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is also accused of another burglary in Emersons Avenue, Swanley, last Wednesday.

A man and a woman were badly injured in the Hextable burglary.

The pair - in their 80s - were taken to King's College Hospital, in London, and have both now been discharged.

A 16-year-old boy arrested last week over the Hextable burglary has been released without charge.
