A horse was killed after it escaped from a field and was hit by two cars on a road in Dartford.
The animal had got out of a field near Bob Dunn Way at about 9.30pm on Saturday and was struck by the vehicles.
Kent Police said officers had been called to reports a car had hit the animal.
A spokesman added: “Minutes after the first collision, another vehicle collided with the horse, which died at the scene. “Officers closed the road while the vehicles were recovered and Kent County Council removed the horse’s body. The road was reopened by 11.30pm.”Paramedics were also on the scene tending to the people in both cars.
It is understood at least one was being treated in an ambulance when firefighters from Dartford were called out to assist.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service, said: “Unfortunately the white pony died and there was a substantial amount of damage to the cars.”
It is understood no one in either of the cars suffered serious injury during the collisions.
