Suspected illegal gambling ring in Dartford dismantled after police raid

A gambling ring has been dismantled after a police raid.

Officers targeted a commercial premises during a pre-planned multi-agency operation last night in West Hill, Dartford.

Police led the operation and Dartford Council and Kent Fire and Rescue Service also visited the building.

Officers used powers under the Gambling Act 2005 to gain entry and around 15 people were found inside.

There was evidence of illegal alcohol sales and gambling tables and officers also recovered cocaine and cannabis.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the illegal gambling ring and drug supply continues.

A force spokesman said the exact address of the premises could not be revealed because detectives were still investigating.
