An inquest has opened into the death of a man found dead "in violent circumstances" at a home in Dartford.
Robert Williamson, of Factory Road, Northfleet was discovered at a terraced property in Dartford Road on May 11.
An inquest into his death was opened today by Alan Blunsdon, the assistant coroner for north Kent, during a hearing in Maidstone.
It heard the 43-year-old's body was identified by officers using a photograph and a post-mortem report confirmed his identity with reference to his tattoos.
The coroner said it had not been possible to establish Mr Williamson's occupation or place of birth at this stage.
However, Mr Blunsdon confirmed to the court the deceased's address, date of birth and that he was married to Samantha Hucker, a care worker.
A medical cause of death had not yet been ascertained, the court heard.
In his concluding statement, the coroner said he was "abundantly satisfied" with the identification carried out and that the death was believed to have taken place "in violent circumstances".
The inquest was adjourned until October 7 for a full hearing at County Hall in Maidstone.
Police have previously confirmed Mr Williamson had sustained injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.
David Hucker, 69, of Dartford Road has since been charged with murder. His next court hearing is on June 10 when he is expected to make a formal plea.
He is remanded in custody until then.
