Charlton Athletic ended a run of three straight Championship defeats with a 2-1 win at struggling Ipswich on Saturday.

Captain Johnnie Jackson, pictured, set the Addicks on their way to a first away win of the season when he fired home following a Salim Kerkar cross in the 48th minute.

The impressive Ricardo Fuller doubled Athletic’s lead on 51 minutes by dispossessing Massimo Luongo and beating Town goalkeeper Scott Loach.

Nervous Town - with manager Paul Jewell’s future the subject of growing speculation - pulled a goal back on 57 minutes with a Jason Scotland strike that took a deflection off Michael Morrison.

Charlton – who are now 19th in the Championship – saw out the match with few problems, while Dale Stephens missed a golden opportunity to score a third.
