Hatton Garden suspect Paul Reader submits planning application for roof lights at house in Dartford Road, Dartford

Councillors are due to discuss a planning application submitted by a suspect in the Hatton Garden jewellery raid.

Paul Reader, 50, who was arrested at his home in Dartford Road, Dartford, with his dad Brian, 76, last month, has asked for permission to install windows in the roofs of two houses being built.

The properties were constructed following a previous application in 2010 for a couple of detatched homes at the back of the main house.

The application, due to be heard next Thursday, has been described as a "non-material amendment".

A council document reads: "The proposal is for the addition of one roof light in the roofs of two houses which are presently being built.

"These velux windows would face inwards within the site, so the windows would face the other property rather than towards the site boundaries."
