The M25 murder of Stephen Cameron by Kenneth Noye is to feature in a new series of Crime+Investigation's Murdertown.

In the show, actress and presenter, Emilia Fox, visits Swanley to uncover the details of the killing that turned into an international manhunt after the 21-year-old was stabbed to death on a slip-road near the town.

The documentary visits towns and communities where murders took place to re-tell the tragedies through the testimony of investigating police officers, journalists, friends, relatives and business colleagues.

The murder happened in May 1996, after Mr Cameron was involved in a minor collision near the M25 with known gangster Noye.

Instead of walking away, Noye attacked the young man with a knife, stabbing him multiple times and leaving him on the side of the road to die.

The crime made headlines around the world as one of the first examples in the UK of a road rage killing.

After the attack, Noye fled the country.

Police were searching for a man with a different name, however it was revealed he was using a false identity, and a key witness of the attack was able to help police identify Noye and bring him to justice.

The programme, which is produced by Workerbee, looks at the impact murder has on a local community, through the eyes of those most immediately affected as well as those further afield, such as crime reporters, investigating police officers and criminologists.

Other areas featured in series four include Rotherham, Glasgow, Peterborough and Mablethorpe.
