A 22-year-old from Kent has been crowned the winner of ITV2’s hit show Love Island.
Sammy Root and his new girlfriend Jess Harding were voted top by the public in last night’s live finale.
The project manager joined the cast as a bombshell – entering the Mallorca villa and picking Ella, Molly and Jess to go on a date in The Hideaway.
He described himself as “a catch” who is “quite easy on the eye” and insists his success rate with girls is “quite high”.
In his entrance video, he said: “If I see a girl I like, I’m going all guns blazing.
“I’m not going to care who they’re with, I’m just going to crack on.”
It is safe to say that Sammy, who is thought to be from Dartford, has had quite a turbulent romance with aesthetics practitioner Jess Harding.
Viewers have watched all the highs and lows of their relationship throughout season 10 of the show.
In last night’s live finale, the pair were up against couples Lochan Nowacki and Whitney Adebayo, Ella Thomas and Tyrique Hyde, and Molly Marsh and Zachariah Noble.
Sammy and Jess came out on top, with the public voting for them as their favourite.
They were crowned the winners by presenter Maya Jama and both win a share of the prize money worth £50,000.
However, Sammy isn’t the only Kent contestant to enter the villa this year.
Dancer Ella Barnes, from Ashford, was voted out of show with her partner Mitchel Taylor in a dramatic dumping.
The couple were voted the least compatible couple by their fellow islanders and the public.
