One of the county's districts has one of the highest Covid rates in the UK.

It comes as a further 93,045 confirmed cases were announced today - the highest number of daily cases since the pandemic began.

Latest government data has revealed Dartford has the ninth highest rate in the county, with a rate of 869.8 per 100,000 people and 992 confirmed cases.

Lambeth has the highest rate in the country at 969.8, which is followed by Southwark, South Northamptonshire, Hammersmith and Fulham, Reigate and Banstead, and Wandsworth.

The next highest district in Kent is Tunbridge Wells, which has 936 confirmed cases and a rate of 787.

Yesterday, the chief medical advisor told MPs hospitals are likely to see a high rise in demand to admit Covid patients which will be more serious than the first wave.
