Charlton signed Burnley centre-half Leon Cort on a season-long loan on Monday afternoon.
The 31-year-old, who joined Burnley from Stoke for £1.5m in January 2010, becomes the 17th signing made by Addicks boss Chris Powell this summer.
"I'm delighted to join Charlton," said Cort. "It's a fantastic move for me. Charlton are a massive club and I'm looking forward to getting started.
"When I found out that Charlton were interested in me, I was interested straight away. It's a club with real ambition and it's always nice to have someone wanting you.
"The team has made a great start to the season, and hopefully I can add to the squad. There will be suspensions and injuries throughout the season, so we need a strong squad and I will do all that I can to help the club to gain promotion."
