You may want to think again about that post-Christmas shopping trip to Lakeside as heavy traffic is creating long delays on the approach to the Dartford Crossing.

Highways England are warning motorists to expect plenty of congestion on the M25 anti-clockwise between J4 and the tunnels into Essex, with traffic not expected to return to normal until later this afternoon.

There have been no accidents or other incidents - the delays are purely because of the volume of traffic.

There are also delays on the A2 heading towards Bluewater following an early crash involving four vehicles.
