A two-vehicle crash caused gridlock on the M25 this evening.

The accident happened between Junction 3 for the M20 at Swanley and Junction 2 for the A2 at about 5.30pm.

Police and ambulance crews were called and the inside lane of the anti-clockwise carriageway was closed.

Highways England said the vehicles involved had been cleared and all lanes reopened by 6.15pm and the delays were easing.
