Lorry on fire on the B255 in Bean near Bluewater shopping centre

A lorry has burst into flames on the approach to a roundabout near Bluewater shopping centre.

The incident happened just before 8am on the B255 in Bean.

Images show the HGV engulfed in flames with black plumes of smoke noticeable from a distance.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said five fire engines and a bulk water carrier attended alongside a technical rescue unit.

There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.

Fire crews left the scene at 10.25am.

Officers say they were made aware of the fire at 7.44am and assisted with a road closure while the incident was managed by fire crews.

The ambulance service have been contacted for more information.
