A lorry driver has gone on trial accused of killing a car driver on the Dartford Crossing while watching his mobile phone.
Viorel Sandulache, 26, was at the wheel of his lorry in November 2017 at 4.05 am.
A jury at Maidstone Crown Court heard how his truck struck an Audi driven by Abigail Harvey on the A282 Dartford Crossing.
The 21-year-old, from Langdon Hills, Basildon, Essex died from her injuries.
Prosecutor Nina Ellin told how the Romanian driver, who was seen walking around in a daze, is alleged to have told other drivers after the fatal crash: “She stopped. Then he hit his brakes. Then he hit her.”
Sandulache, who works for Dartford-based UK Mail, had been travelling between Dartford and Birmingham.
He claimed he was listening to music when the accident happened.
The jury were shown footage of the moments before the accident taken from the Queen Elizabeth II bridge cameras.
He told police after the crash: "I was listening to music. I can't believe it."
He claimed that after the accident "no-one came to help"
Sandulache said he went to the Audi and "she was snoring".
He went on: "I removed her seatbelt. I thought that would help. I can't remember much. I am in shock."
Sandulache, who has been staying at an address in Grays, Essex, has denied causing death by dangerous driving.
The trial continues.
