Lorry driver Virginijus Sertvytis denies causing death of Arthur Jackson in M25 crash near Dartford

A lorry driver has denied causing the death of a man after a pile-up on the M25 motorway at the Darenth Interchange.

Virginijus Sertvytis, a 45-year-old Lithuanian national, was released on bail until his trial on April 18 next year.

He entered a not guilty plea to causing the death by careless driving of Arthur Jackson when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court yesterday.

Mr Jackson was taken to King’s College Hospital in London with multiple injuries after the crash in the early hours of February 11 and died two weeks later on February 25.

Three others were injured in the accident on the clockwise carriage way at junction two.

One of the cars hit a barrier, badly damaging it, which forced highways chiefs to close the carriageway for 12 hours.
