A man in his 30s has died after a fatal crash on the M25 last night.
Traffic was stopped at around 10pm between Junction 3 for Swanley and Junction 4 for Orpington after the collision.
A silver BMW Z4 was being driven towards Sevenoaks when it is reported to have left the motorway on the nearside before returning to stop on the carriageway.
The vehicle collided with a blue Nissan Note which had been travelling in the same direction.
Emergency services attended the scene where the driver of the BMW was confirmed to be deceased.
His next of kin has been informed.
Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage is sought by officers investigating the crash.
The incident happened on the clockwise carriageway, which was shut for nearly 12 hours. It reopened at around 9.30am
A police spokesman said: “An investigation into the circumstances is underway. Anyone who saw what happened or who may have dashcam footage of the vehicles prior to the incident, should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.”

Two of three lanes in the opposite direction were also closed as a result of the collision, National Highways has confirmed.
The fire service were also called to the scene just before 10pm and left at around 00.20am the following morning.
A spokesman said: “Kent Fire and Rescue was called at 21.55pm yesterday to reports of a crash involving two vehicles on the M25 between junction 3 and 4, In between Swanley and Orpington.
“Three fire engines attended to support SECAmb and Kent Police.”
